Schaeffer's Oil Fall Nationals Set for Lucrative Doubleheader at Tri-County & Senoia!

The 2020 edition of the Schaeffer's Oil Fall Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels schedule will resume this week in a big way, as over $63,000 worth of prize money will be up for grabs in a pair of special events in the states of North Carolina and Georgia. First up will be a visit to the Ray Cook-promoted Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina. The third leg of the miniseries will take place this Thursday night, October 22 at the western North Carolina oval, as the 17th Annual FK Rod Ends 'Tarheel 50' will boast a $10,000 payday for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. The biggest event of the year at Tri-County Race Track - which was postponed by rain back on October 9 - will also feature the 602 Thunder Series ($1,200 to win), Street Stocks ($500 to win), and Front Wheel Drives ($800 to win) on the undercard.

From there, the cars and stars racing with the Fall Nationals tour will venture to the Peach State for the annual running of the 'Billy Clanton Classic' at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia. Following an open practice session for the Super Late Models on Friday evening, another $10,000 top prize will be up for grabs on Saturday, October 24. As part of the track's 5th Annual 'Showdown at Senoia' weekend, the Schaeffer's Oil Fall Nationals Series will headline the action on the gray gumbo, which also includes the Crate Late Models ($1,000 to win), Late Model Sportsman ($1,500 to win), Hobby ($3,000 to win), Mini Stock ($500 to win), Hot Shots ($500 to win), and Chargers (Trophy) on Saturday.

Brandon Overton, of Evans, Georgia, is the defending winner of the 'Tarheel 50' at Tri-County Race Track, as he won the 2019 version of the race in dominating fashion over Kyle Hardy, Dale McDowell, Donald McIntosh, and Kenny Collins. Other past 'Tarheel 50' winners include: Billy Moyer, Shane Clanton, Jonathan Davenport, Dennis Franklin, Kayne Hickman, Dale McDowell, Casey Roberts, Shawn Chastain, and David Payne. Speaking of David Payne, he secured himself a guaranteed starting spot in the 53-lap 'Tarheel 50' headliner by virtue of his 'Tarheel Tune-Up' victory at the 1/4-mile bullring back on September 26.

The FK Rod Ends 'Tarheel 50' will be presented by several fine sponsors including Jacky Jones Automotive Group, Interstate Welding, E-Z-GO, and Vinson Sims Construction. The pit gates will swing open for competitors on Thursday, October 22 at 3:00pm, while the grandstands will start allowing patrons into the facility at 4:00pm. The Driver's Meeting will get underway at 6:45pm with the red-hot racing action slated to start at 7:00pm. Admission for adults will be $25.00 into the grandstands and $40.00 into the pit area. Kids ages 11-16 will be admitted into the grandstands for only $15.00 and into the pit area for only $25.00. Children ages 10 and under will be allowed onto the premises for FREE.

Ashton Winger, of Hampton, Georgia, is the defending winner of the 'Billy Clanton Classic,' which was also sanctioned by the Schaeffer's Oil Fall Nationals tour in 2019. Ashton, who started the 60-lapper from the outside of the front row, grabbed the top spot early in the distance and collected the five-figure payday over a top five that included runner-up Chris Madden, Shane Clanton, Clint Smith, and Casey Roberts. Former winners of the 'Billy Clanton Classic' include Billy's son Shane Clanton - who won the inaugural event in 2015 and once again in 2016 - Brandon Sheppard in 2017, and Chris Madden in 2018.

The pit gates at Senoia Raceway will open up at 12:00pm on Saturday afternoon, October 24, while the grandstands will start to allow fans into the venue at 2:00pm. The Driver's Meeting will get underway at 2:30pm, while hot laps will take to the track at 3:00pm. Grandstand admission will be $25.00 for adults, while kids 12 and under will be admitted for FREE. Those wanting to purchase a pit pass can do so for $40.00 for adults and $20.00 for kids ages 5-12. For those unable to make it to Tri-County Race Track and/or Senoia Raceway, all of the dirt-slinging competition will be broadcast LIVE to subscribers on both www.DirtonDirt.com and www.FloRacing.com.

Through two Schaeffer's Oil Fall Nationals Series events - held at Smoky Mountain Speedway and Tazewell Speedway in Tennessee - there is a tie at the top of the heated point standings. Vic Hill and David Payne share the top spot in the latest version of the points heading into the 'Tarheel 50,' while Donald McIntosh, Pierce McCarter, Michael Chilton, and Stacy Boles are hot on their trail.

The tire rule for the FK Rod Ends 'Tarheel 50' at Tri-County Race Track will be Hoosier 1300, 1350, and 1600 (RR option); American Racer 44, 48, and 56 (RR option). The tire rule for the 'Billy Clanton Classic' at Senoia Raceway will be Hoosier 1350 and 1600; American Racer 48 and 56. The entry fee will be $100.00 and transponders will be available to rent. Any driver not advancing into the feature field will receive $75.00 in tow money.
