Tri-County Race Track Hosts Southern Nationals Series
this Thursday, July 30th
Tri-County
Race Track in Brasstown, N.C. is gearing up for one of the season’s
largest events this Thursday Night July 30th as the Scaheffer’s
Oil Southern Nationals Series presented by Old Man’s Garage
rolls back into town for a “Thursday Night Thunder”
event featuring the ground-pounders racing 35 laps for $3,500-to-win.
Also in action this Thursday will be the Crate Late Models,
Interstate Welding Modified Street, Street Stock and Pony divisions.
The pit gates open at 4:00 pm this Thursday while the grandstand
gates swing open at 5:00 pm. The driver’s meeting will
be at 7:00 pm and racing will begin at 7:30 pm. Adult general
admission for the July 30th event is $18.00, kids 11-16 are
$10.00 and children 10 and under are free while adult pit passes
are $30.00, kids 11-16 are $15.00 and children 10 and under
are free.
During the thrilling Southern Nationals Bonus Series by Collins
Signs event on July 9th fans were treated to spectacular racing
as Cedartown, Ga.’s Austin Smith came from the rear of
the field and out-dueled David Payne and Kenny Collins to collect
the $3,000 payday.
The Southern Nationals Series will utilize the following Tire
Rule for Tri-County: American Racer 44, 48 & 56 and Hoosier
1300, 1350 & 1600. At each Old Man’s Garage Spring
Nationals, Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals and Southern
Nationals Bonus Series event in 2015, the highest finishing
CT525 engine in the main event will receive a $200 bonus and
the highest finishing Steel Head/SPEC engine will also receive
a $200 bonus.
