Tri-County Race Track Hosts Schaeffer’s Oil
Southern Nationals Series Tuesday July 23
The Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented
by Sunoco Race Fuels will visit Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown,
NC on Tuesday July 23 as part of the 15th Anniversary edition
of the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented
by Sunoco Race Fuels, paying $3,500 to win the 35 lap main event.
Tri-County Race Track will host the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern
Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels in an event
that will feature practice, time trials, heats, and the 35 lap,
$3,500 to win feature contest. Other divisions in competition
at Tri-County Race Track on Tuesday July 23 will be the track’s
Interstate Welding Modified Hobby/602 ($500 to win), Street
Stocks ($300 to win), Pony ($300 to win), 602 Beginners ($150
to win), and Front Wheel Drives ($150 to win). Activities at
Tri-County Race Track on Tuesday July 23 will see the pit area
will open at 4:00 p.m., while general admission and tier parking
will open at 5:00 p.m. The drivers meeting will take place at
6:45 p.m., with practice set for 7:00 p.m. Ticket prices for
the Tuesday July 23 event at Tri-County Race Track in the general
admission area will be $20 for adults, with $10 for young adults
ages 11-16, and children ages 10 and under free. A pit pass
for adults will be $35, with young adults ages 11-16 in the
pits costing $20, with children ages 10 and under free.
Also, there will be a $200 bonus for the highest finishing Limited
Late Model/525 entry in the Super Late Model division. In addition,
there will be $100 awarded to the top Super Late Model qualifier
from Hayesville Trailer Sales and Hayesville Trailer Sales will
also award $100 if the Super Late Model track record in broken.
Previous Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented
by Sunoco Race Fuels event winners at Tri Count Race Track include
Benji Cole (2005), Casey Roberts (2006, 2015), Chris Madden
(2007), Shanon Buckingham (2016), and Brandon Overton (2017).
The Super Late Model portion of the program will be sanctioned
by the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Series presented
by Sunoco Race Fuels. The entry fee will be $100, plus transponder
rental for timing/scoring purposes. The Super Late Model tire
rule will be as follows: Hoosier 1300, 1350 and 1600 and American
Racer 44, 48 and 56. Random tire samples will be taken by the
series. Drivers not making the feature event will receive $75
tow money.
