Tri-County (NC) Race Track Has Independence Day Championships
on Monday, July 3rd

Promoter Ray Cook has announced plans for the Seventh Annual
Independence Day Championships coming up on Monday, July 3rd
at the Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, N.C.
On Monday July 3rd, the Vinson Sims Construction-sponsored
Super Late Models will race for $1,500-to-win with 10 or more
cars on hand. If there are nine or less, it will be the weekly
show of $1,000-to-win. In addition, the Southeastern Limited
Late Model Series will be on hand racing for $1,500-to-win,
plus $1,000-to-win in the Crate Late Models, $500-to-win in
the Interstate Welding Modified Street division, $400-to-win
in the Street Stocks and $400-to-win in the Pony division that
night.
The action-filled night of six divisions will be capped off
by a huge Fireworks show during the track’s intermission.
This is one of the largest Fireworks shows in the Tri-State
area.
The Bounty of $300 on Jamie Cross in the Pony division will
be in effect this coming Monday Night for the final time. Cross
has captured five event victories of the six races contested
so far this season in the Pony division.
So far in 2017, there have been five different winners in six
Super Late Model events. Jamie Oliver, Donald McIntosh (Southern
Nationals Bonus Series), Shawn Chastain, Kurt English and David
Payne (twice) have all made trips to victory lane this season.
On Monday July 3rd, the pit gates open at 4:00 pm, the grandstand
gates open at 5:00 pm and the drivers meeting is slated for
7:00 pm and hot laps set to begin at around 7:15 pm. Adult General
Admission is $18.00 with children 11-16 admitted for $10.00
while children ten and under are admitted for Free. Adult Pit
Passes are $30.00 with children 11-16 admitted for $15.00 while
children under ten are admitted for Free.
The Monday July 3rd event kicks off the two special events
for the month of July for the Tri-County Race Track. The second
event will be on Monday July 17th as the Schaeffer’s Oil
Southern Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and
Tennessee RV will invade the track for Round # 2 of the 11-race
mini-series racing 35 laps for $3,500-to-win. This will mark
the sixth ever appearance by the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern
Nationals Series which will begin the 13th season of competition.
