Tri-County Race Track Goes
for Third Try at Spring Nationals Series this Thursday, April
10!
The
Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series by Schaeffer’s
Oil will get a third try at racing action this coming Thursday
evening, April 10 at Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North
Carolina. After rains washed out the racing action the last
two Friday nights, track & series promoter Ray Cook has
dubbed this coming Thursday night as the makeup date for the
event, which will pay $4,000 to win and $400 to start for the
Spring Nationals Series-sanctioned event. The weather forecast
for this Thursday looks more promising, so the cars will take
to the track for this special event at the track located minutes
outside of Murphy, North Carolina.
The Tri-County Race Track in Brasstown, North Carolina will
be the fourth event on the schedule paying $4,000 to win / $400
to start on Thursday night, April 10. The support classes that
evening include the Crate Late Models racing for $600 to win,
the Interstate Welding Modified Street division will race for
$300 to win, and the Street Stocks will be competing for $250
to win. A $200 bonus will be paid to the highest finishing Steel
Head/Spec or 525 Late Model to make the show and $100 for the
second-highest finisher in the Spring Nationals Super Late Model
event. Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Georgia won in exciting fashion
during last year's series visit - capturing the $4,000 payday
over Billy Ogle Jr. and Stacy Boles.
So far this season, there have been three different winners
in three events during Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals
by Schaeffer’s Oil competition. Jimmy Owens, of Newport,
Tennessee, won the season opening show during the 'Spring Thaw'
at Volunteer Speedway on March 14 with Chris Madden of Gray
Court, South Carolina capturing night two of the annual event.
The most recent winner was Billy Ogle, Jr., of Knoxville, Tennessee,
who claimed the 'East-Tennessee Auto Outlet 50' at Smoky Mountain
Speedway on Saturday night, April 5. Ogle now sits atop the
point standings where he leads by just four markers over Mike
Marlar. Eric Wells, Vic Hill, and Stacy Boles complete the top
five in the championship point standings.
With the Spring Nationals event being run this Thursday, it
gives drivers the opportunity to race in Friday & Saturday's
World of Outlaws Late Model Series programs at Duck River (TN)
Raceway Park and Tazewell (TN) Speedway, which pay $10,000 to
win each. Both Duck River & Tazewell are part of the Southern
Nationals Series family of tracks.
On Thursday, April 10 at Tri-County, the pit gates will swing
open at 4:00 pm, the grandstand gates open at 5:00 pm, the driver's
meeting is slated for 7:00 pm, and racing is set to begin at
around 7:30 pm. Adult general admission is $18.00 with children
11-16 admitted for $10.00 while children ten and under will
be admitted for free. Adult pit passes are $30.00 with children
11-16 admitted for $15.00 while children under ten will be admitted
for free.
